Competition for Stationery Geeks! StickerYou.Com Review

Anyone who has read this blog knows that I LOVE STATIONERY.  I have a huge collection of notebooks, pens, glue sticks – so many glue sticks.  And of course I love Stickers.  When a company called Sticker You got in touch with me to ask if I’d like to pick some products to review, I said yes – but I was not expecting what they actually offered.

See, I’ve bought stickers from everywhere and for all needs – diary stickers, cute stickers, logo stickers, snazzy stickers.  I have kids too, so basically, we are like a sticker factory. I log in to the StickerYou.com site.  They seem to make all sorts of things. There’s a lot of choice. I don’t understand. What do I get to pick from?

Anything.

ANYTHING?

A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G.

Make any image you want in to a DIE CUT sticker.  Full your sheets with any selection of designs you want.  Ordering took me two weeks because I was in sticker heaven and I couldn’t; decide.

I’ve never seen anything like it.

Let me explain further and show you the amazing things I ordered, and also how to win $50 to spend on the site yourself!

First off – the interface is super easy to use but I have some tips:

1. I recommend setting up an account asap because it took me so long to decide what I wanted, it gave me a chance to save things as I went along.  Creating an account means the work is saved.

2. Make sure you have decent internet connection as I tried to do some sheets when I was on holiday in Scotland with rubbish connection and man, it was slow.

3. If you are choosing your own designs and want to get a sheet with different designs, get them ready in a folder before starting, it saves a lot of time when you are rearranging them on your sheet.

The order took around a week to arrive:

When you arrive on the Sticker You website, you can go directly to the item you want OR go through their product page which I personally found super useful to decide what works best (for example, do you want permanent or removable? Do you want matte or glossy? Do you need it to be dishwasher safe? Mixed designs or the same one repeated?).  This way you can be sure you are getting the right product.

They have a number of stickers which are great for businesses; packaging labels, temporary tattoos, vinyl graphic (for windows), wall and floor decals.  But they have lots of good things for every day sticker fans like me too.

I wanted to get a mixture of fun and useful items so that is what I did!

First, I got name labels for the kids!

I order these at the start of the school year and they are great for everything. I stick them on books, their water bottles, lunch boxes and so on. I found some labels fade quickly in the dishwasher but these ones are waterproof, dishwasher and microwave safe (yes really!).

I ordered one page of rectangular name stickers using their cute templates. As you can mix and match (when I order from other companies, they tend to make you use the same design and name per order) I did them for both kids on one sheet:

These are the white glossy vinyl. They are surprisingly thin and very sticky which means they won’t catch on things and start to come off.

I also got some Iron on name labels.  I chose rectangular as this seems to fit well on to clothing tags but also directly on to clothing. These have a matte finish:

I also got some stick on name labels – these ones are great if you don’t want to iron on labels and need to quickly get some clothes labelled up.

For these ones I chose the square shape. Even though these are stick on they are washing machine safe. These have the light vinyl feel of the first name stickers but they REALLY stick more so than other stick on name labels I have tried before.

Again I did half for H1, and half for H2.

It might seem like a lot of name labels but these will last me a few years I hope!  You can also upload your own designs if you wish for the tags but I was happy with the ones they already have.

Then to mix things up I ordered some magnets, for our fridge and my ma’s.  I did some designs for Mr C but also some photographs too. Again, you can upload any images to make in to a magnet.

This is something for Mr C who is a huge fan of the film, The Ninth Gate (points if you know what this is!):

For reference, the magnets are really thing and bendy. I love how light they are (some magnets are quite heavy and don’t stick properly). They are actually printed on, they won’t peel off.

Because I wanted to try out more of what they had to offer, I also ordered a sheet of t-shirt transfers with a mixture of designs. Again these are die cut so you don’t have to figure out the shape with your scissors! You get a sheet of parchment paper to use (place over the design and iron on) and clear instructions too.

I know, I am so hilarious:

I bought some cheap t-shirts in from Fruit of the Loom for the kids and got this ironed on with no problems at all.  The process only took a few minutes and you iron on the front and back. Again, this transfer is a white vinyl material, which feels thin – almost like it will stretch if you pull it to hard (but ti doesn’t).

Again if you follow the instructions, it’s very easy. I gave it a good iron and pressed down firmly as instructed. Once cooled I did the inside.

Here is one of the finished t’s which I have washed and it seems totally fine (he’s crazy for science):

I ordered 3 sheets of stickers because hey, THAT IS WHAT WE ARE HERE FOR.  Primarily what I wanted was some stickers for the kids Yumbox lunch boxes plus some spares for bits and bobs.

Sticker You has lots of pre set stickers if you want to pick from those (if you are stuck for ideas) so I did choose several from their own designs. Having them die cut is amazing – it means every single sticker has a neat finish.

Here are some of the ways I use them:

Harrison is learning new words with Mrs Wordsmith so I thought this was a cute touch!

And of course, my purpose for getting these stickers was so the kids and Mr C could decorate their Yumboxes, which they did with a lot of enjoyment!

Here is her finished lunch box! Some of his favourite things:

The good thing about these stickers is that you can put it in the dishwasher and they are nice and thin so they just blend in to the box nicely.  With a Yumbox, the inside compartments need the deep clean and the outside can usually do with a wipe but at least the option to stick it in the dishwasher is there too.

Here is H2’s:

I recommend ordering a FREE catalogue here which comes with sticker samples to have a look at if you want to see the quality for yourself.
