Pixi Eye Define Waterline Review

If I could only do 3 make up things to my face, one of them would be to tightline under the lashes.  Tightlining (I am sure you already know but I will recap) is when you draw some eyeliner under the lashes.  The result is defined eyes that also look natural. It’s a godsend for people like me with a tiny crease, as it means I am not taking up precious lid space.

Everyone will have their own pencil that they like to do this with.  For me, because my eyes are sensitive and watery, I prefer a crayon that is very black, waterproof, and soft enough to transfer easily to my eyes.  I can’t bear pencils that require lots of warming up or that drag on the skin because you know, irritation. However, an overly soft pencil can smudge too.

I was on the hunt for a new waterline pencil that fit my above criteria, and then look what landed – this Pixi Eye Define Waterline pen is (at the time of writing) one of the few (the other being Chanel) eyeliners that are FDA approve for use on the waterline.

Don’t get me wrong – everyone will use whatever pencil suits them, but if you wanted to find something that had been specifically approved, then this is one of them.

Pixi say that this eyeliner is waterproof, smooth and pigmented.  It is retractable (important as I have lost every make up sharpener I have ever owned).

So far no complaints. Good packaging. Good pigmentation. I swatched this on my hand – it’s pigmented and medium soft – not too soft, not too hard. It didn’t drag on my skin at all.

I have been using this for a few weeks now and yes – I like it.  I’ve had zero irritation, it transfers easily, it looks black and I haven’t noticed any major smudging either.  There’s no reason at all why this won’t be in my daily eyeliner use pile.

On my eyes:

See? It makes a huge difference to the eyes.

Do you tight line? If you find it scary or you’re scared of poking yourself in the eye, try lifting up your lid and using a mirror underneath to see what you are doing, OR, close your eyes and run the liner gently just under your lashes!
