Welcome!

A Human Story is all about expressing what it is to be alive, human, dreaming, experiencing, loving, wanting, hating and struggling as humans do, in a chaotic mess of selfishness, pain, heroism, triumph and compassion.

How many times do we pass each other without saying a word, without really appreciating what it is to be neighbors on this planet? How often do we love someone only to experience a profound loss as we realize how fragile the human hold on life really is? How often are we surprised when a random encounter imparts a deep impact on the course of our own lives? We miss so much of each other in this over-worked, over-scheduled world.

Let's make the world a smaller place, one stranger at a time. If you want to share your story or that of someone you love, lost, revile, despise or long for, we want to hear from you. This project is a collection of stories intended to illustrate what it is to be human.

This project will function through two avenues, the collection of bios written by our editor from a random sampling of strangers and friends and bios written by readers like you. Short bios, about 350-500 words, can be submitted to miravu dot web at gmail dot com. We'll post your submission (subject to an editorial review) shortly after it's received.

Every life matters. Everyone is relevant. No one is truly a stranger.

The Not-So-Fine-Print
Currently, we are not paying for submissions. We also do not claim any ownership of content posted to our site by readers and will remove content upon request of the author for spontaneous submissions.

Please keep the following guidelines in mind when writing bios:

  • We cannot post anything vulgar, profane or overly "adult" in nature. Please keep it clean.
  • We will not post anything slanderous that calls out a person's full name or identity.
  • Please observe good grammar and spelling to maintain the quality of the content on this site.
  • We will not open emails with attachments due to the unfortunate few out there who love to send viruses. If you write your bio in Word or another word processing program, please copy and paste it into the body of the email.
  • At this time, we will not be posting pictures with bios. When this functionality becomes available we will contact authors who wish to post photos with their stories.
