Elon Musk has finally revealed the first look of his new affordable eco-friendly Tesla car which is affordable at $35,000 and can go 215 miles on a single charge

Billionaire Elon Musk has finally revealed the first look at his new affordable Tesla, after news of the $35,000 model was met with much anticipation.

Musk tweeted photos of Model 3 late on Saturday night, after the CEO announced the cars would begin production Friday, thanks to passing tests ahead of schedule.

The five-seat car will be able to travel 215 miles on a single charge and will be sporty, accelerating from zero to 60mph in under six seconds.

Although the eco-friendly car is affordable compared to other Teslas, those looking to buy the vehicle may be waiting months before they can get behind the wheel.

The new cars are priced at $35,000 but a $7,500 federal tax credit for electric vehicles would lower the cost to $27,500.
News of the car’s release comes earlier than expected, Musk said on Monday.
He tweeted:
‘Model 3 passed all regulatory requirements for production two weeks ahead of schedule. Expecting to complete SN1 [first production] on Friday.’

The first 30 owners will be able to take a spin in their new cars on July 28 at a celebratory launch party.Others may have to wait much longer, as production will begin slowly at 100 cars for the month of August and another 1,500 cars for September.
By the end of December that number is expected to reach 200,000 per month, Musk later said in a reply.
Tesla has not said how many people have put down $1,000 refundable deposits for the Model 3, but Musk said people who put down a deposit now will not get a car until the end of 2018 – suggesting it could be close to 500,000 people waiting.

TESLA’S MODEL 3

The first models of the 35,000 (£27,000) electric vehicle begin production this week.
The five-seat sedan will travel 215 miles (133 kilometres) on a single charge.
It will be sporty, accelerating from zero to 60mph in under six seconds.
The car has no traditional dashboard, but instead a computer monitor in the center of the car which shows details about the car and its route.
It will be controlled via a touchscreen and each side of the steering wheel will have a single scroll button.
The California-based company aims to make 5,000 Model 3 sedans per week by the end of this year and 10,000 per week in 2018.
