An appeal to the US Postmaster General on the State of the USPS Website Tracking Invalid Information

Dear Ms. Megan J. Brennan

Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer of the United States Postal Service

We are now on our way to the 22nd century, it's now the year of the Millennial ruling our society where everything is social and mobile friendly.

In the 90's way back when the Internet spanned as the future of retail and e-commerce and back then when SEO's and online customer ratings and feedback played an important success and demise of online brick and mortar stores started the fast shipping and with Usps tracking on every book sold online.

Today, the Usps Tracking numbers can be safely assumed as a requirement on every transaction sold online and shipped "fast".  Yet from the 1990's when the USPS Website tracking info had issues on "Invalid Number", "Input Correct Number", "Pre-Shipment" and "No Information" available till today a few months to 2018, these same problems prevail and continues. I cited the start in the 1990's as a simple google search will showcase you Ms. Postmaster General on how far of Discussion boards, forums and online communities had been discussing this matter.

FORUM DISCUSSION EXAMPLE

The mere point on this is that till today regardless of the efforts of independent online booksellers and retailers trying to explain when a angry customer uses this information to blast out a Seller, write online feedback and demand for payment refunds, there are times it is just not comprehensible for the creditable United States Postal Service not to be giving the right information. Hence, a lot of times a buyer will not listen to a small time online seller he/she just bought the cheapest book online and had never dealt with before.

With this said so it does not matter if the seller is indeed a veteran selling online, highly reputable in the industry as that's not the perception of this first time online buyer. A series of events then take place especially if the seller sold the item through an big book online marketplace clearing house. Customer service agents of these marketplaces who normally is not aware of this on-going issue, scolds the seller, gives them warning or even suspend their selling privilege if this is not the first occurrence and the final give the customer a full refund with the expense of the seller.

Ms. Postmaster General, this is just one example on the many examples and many different industries affected by this ordeal. Hence, we thought of writing this online blog with the hope it reaches you as with all the things on your plate you might and might not be aware of this issue.

Today, social media's syndication as 10x reach when it used to be in the 90's. Hence, when a word leaks from a social media friend about a seller not being able to deliver or ship and item due to this said issue, guess what happens in the phenomenal social feeds and postings.

So in behalf of a lot of independent online booksellers, we are appealing for your mercy as head of the USPS to please, please take a lot on this on-going issue.

With best regards,

Alex Esguerra
