It’s finally starting to feel like fall here in Pittsburgh, but don’t let the cooler weather scare you off!! This blog gives a list of some fantastic events that are perfect for both the whole family and/or a night out with friends. We hope you’ll get the most out of our beloved city of Pittsburgh with these fantastic October 2017 events and festivals! - Fall is a great time for festivals! If you’re a Pittsburgh native hopefully you’ve been to this one before and enjoyed everything from the pumpkin patch to petting zoos to the live music. But if you’re a newbie you can enjoy all that and food vendors too! It’s sure to become a great tradition for you and your family!
- What: “A Toast to the Community” Wine Tasting

- For just $60 you’ll be able to sample a wide selection of wines from Chairman’s Selection and pair them with some fantastic food stations. Not only is this the perfect event for the wine lover, but it supports great programs like Diabetes Day, 5k, and Depression Screenings. You can have a guilt-free fun night out with your friends or significant other because this event supports those causes!

- When: Friday, October 13, 2017 – Sunday October 15,2017 starting at 10:00 AM

- Similar to the previous festival this event has food vendors and music. However there are some differences in that it also includes a parade, craft vendors, and “pumpkin-related activities” according to VisitPittsburgh.com. Proceeds support the Houston Volunteer Fire Department – it’s sure to be a great time for the whole family!
- What: Wags, Whiskers, & Wings Gala
- Where: David L. Convention Center
- 1000 Fort Duquesne Blvd.

- When: Saturday, October 14 from 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM

- This event is perfect for the animal lover in you because it supports the Humane Animal Rescue! While enjoying cocktails and “scrumptious cuisine” you’ll hear live music, and have the chance to participate in tons of different kinds of auctions! If you love your pet or have a love for animals in general, then this is the event for you!
- What: 23rd Annual Pennsylvania Arts & Crafts Christmas Festival
- Where: Washington County Fairgrounds

- When: Friday October 20, 2017 – Sunday, October 29, 2017 (Every Friday,Saturday, & Sunday starting at 10:00 AM)

- It’s never too early to get into the Christmas Spirit! Your family will be able to meet Santa, as well as two clowns named Glitter Dot & Dapper! There will also be live entertainment, trolley rides and some fantastic food options! It’s sure to put your family in a great mood and get them in the holiday spirit, a little early!
- What: 2nd Annual Witch Festival
- Where: Monongahela Aquatorium

- When: Saturday, October 28, 2017 starting at 3:00 PM

- Adults only can wear their best costume (for the costume contest) and enjoy dancing with fantastic music from a DJ, over 60 merchandise vendors, food and beverages, readers, games, prizes, and so much more! It’s sure to be a great night!
With October also comes our 12th Annual Casino Night! This is another charity event (for adults only) that supports the great cause of Easter Seals Western & Central Pennsylvania. For just $25 you’ll enjoy hot appetizers, $5,000 in gaming money and the chance to bid on several silent auction items!
