Why this question is being asked: The interviewer would like to gain insight into how you were able to move up the corporate ladder.
Strategy: Discuss your Accomplishments that lead to the promotion. Put a special focus on those accomplishments that would be relevant to the job.
Sample answer: I was promoted from account manager to trainer within one year. This was due to my stellar record of sales while maintaining and growing accounts as well as my ability to lead others and train them to work effectively.
