Why this question is being asked:  To understand both your management style as well as your ability to report to a supervisor.

Strategy: Describe the relationship as best you understand the management style that exists at the company. Describe a relationship that is one of mutual respect but where the lines of command are clearly delineated.


Sample answer: The most important thing is to establish a relationship that is based on mutual respect. The subordinate has to respect the supervisor’s ability to manage and the supervisor has to respect the employee. It should be a relationship where there is open communication between the parties. It is also important that each person knows their role and what is expected of them in order to meet objectives.
