Change in 90 day period for Overstayers

Any overstay less than 90 days until 6th April 2017 will not be a ground for refusal for Entry Clearance application, provided they left UK voluntarily. From 6th of April, the 90 day period has been reduced to 30 days.
This change will have a great impact on people who have overstayed during their in-country application got refused and subsequently trying to make fresh entry clearance from outside UK. The impact is that anyone who overstayed for more than 30 days will be subject to a 12 months re-entry ban.
So it’s very important that applicants should be aware of the consequences of overstaying after their leave to remain.
