Old Zerox Site in Uptown Dallas turns New Urban Mixed Use by Vancouver-based Canadian Investor REIT Inc.

Neighbors in Uptown, Dallas TX demanded a new mixed-use urban development to replace the old Xerox Office site and as they say "Ask and You shall Receive". Arguably one of the most prominent new construction projects in Dallas' Uptown neighborhood began earlier this summer with the sale of an old Xerox office site. The more than 10-acre Xerox property at the northeast corner of North Central Expressway and Haskell Avenue just north of downtown will soon be home to a residential tower, luxury hotel, shopping, and restaurants plus two office towers, according to preliminary plans prepared by De La Vega Development.Development of the old Xerox campus is likely to draw a lot of attention from nearby homeowners. The neighbors said they wanted more urban-style development. The new owner — which has retail and mixed-use properties in a half-dozen state — is working on designs for a retail, restaurant, hotel, office and residential complex on the property, which is adjacent to the Cityplace development. It will be interesting to see how this project progress but will certainly bring more options both for current residents and folks looking to move to the area.
