Well, considering their logo, you’d think this would have been first out of the gate. Word’s getting out about an Unofficial Mermaid Frappuccino that a Starbucks employee has concocted, and while it’s not going to show up on the official menu (yet), the recipe is out there for you to inflict on your local barista.
The pink and green Mermaid Frappuccino is being credited to Starbucks barista Jócelyn Freeman, also known as The Modern Barista. The drink is made of vanilla bean, blackberries, and matcha powder for that sea green foam look.
So, how exactly do you get one of these? Starbucks Melody, the site committed to covering these unofficial drinks, defines the mermaid frap as a vanilla bean frappuccino with three scoops of blackberry inclusions. That’s the base — the drizzle is what might make your barista turn into Ursula on you. That’s made of eight pumps of white mocha, three pumps of toasted coconut, and three scoops of matcha, all mixed together and washed over your drink.
