Lowcountry Living – August Events

August is certainly a time for celebrating as one of the most awe-inspiring celestial events in Charleston will take place on August 21st. Visitors will be able to view a total solar eclipse for over a minute! If you won’t be in town that day, take a look at all of the other great events happening in the Lowcountry in August. Join Indaco on Tuesday, August 1, to celebrate their fourth anniversary! Indaco will be offering three courses for $35. During their entire anniversary week  July 31 – August 4, enjoy $5 Negronis from 5 to 8 p.m.

Add a little sparkle to your summer and join Mercantile and Mash on Wednesday, August 2, for their Farm to Glass: Fresh and Fruity Prosecco Cocktails wine social. Small bites will be provided by Chef Tim Morton and team.

Bring your four-legged friends and enjoy an exclusive happy hour on the patio at Burtons Grill on August 10 to benefit Charleston Animal Society. For only $25 per person, you will receive two drink tickets, plus an appetizer buffet. Fidos, of course, are free!

Join The Charleston Museum on August 11 with Archivist and Collections Manager Jennifer McCormick as she leads a discussion on their exhibit, Forces of Nature: Charleston in the Aftermath. Conversations with a Curator allows visitors a chance to have an intimate look at an exhibit in The Charleston Museum, hear stories, ask questions and spark conversations.

Come enjoy your Sunday afternoon shopping and socializing at 2nd Sunday on King Street on August 13. This month features new product launches, lots of great sales, great food and more! There will be events and activities, shopping, food and wine.

The five-race Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series at James Island County Park will take place on August 13 and features a 600-yard freshwater swim, 12-mile bike ride, and 5K flat run. Over 30,000 people have raced the series over the years, and the series has been honored as one of the Top Ten Charleston Signature Sport Events by the Charleston Metro Sports Council.
