The Washington, DC office of Baker & McKenzie seeks a mid/senior-level associate for its customs compliance practice. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4-6 years customs compliance experience in a large law firm or government agency. Relevant experience includes counseling clients on customs issues (e.g., classification, valuation, marking, preference claims), conducting compliance reviews, drafting prior disclosures, representing clients before U.S. Customs and Border Protection, etc. Top academic credentials, strong analytical ability, and excellent communication and writing skills required. The candidate must have the ability to function smoothly in a global team environment with culturally diverse team members, and to work well with outside counsel. Must be admitted to and a member in good standing of a U.S. State Bar.
