How to : Avoid Being 'TAGGED" (another Scam)

If you're old enough to remember a game most young kids used to play called: Tag...You're It", the game is back bigger than ever, only this time you could lose your identity and money. Tagged.COM is a social networking site that has been in existence since 2006. Here's how this scam works.

  1. Somewhere along the line, you may get an Email from TAGGED.com saying they have some pictures available on line that they have of you or you and some friends...etc. These pictures are available, they say, online so please contact them for viewing. Now that you're curious you may do just that. If you register, you're hooked.

  2. Step 2

The catch is YOU have to register at Tagged.com in order to see the supposed pictures. So if you go ahead and complete the registration process, you'll soon get another email saying you have signed up for a voicemail service at $14.95 a month - automatically billed to your home phone number. Trying to cancel the service can be done, but it will try your patience.

  3. Step 3

Tagged is a virus-like program that goes through your address book and falsely blasts out notifications about photos onliine. Don't fall for this scam if you receive an email asking you to register for Tagged. If you got the Message from a friend, let them know you got the message, then direct them to this Web site: www.snopes.com - this site has a lengthy explanation about the dangers of Tagged.
