Or are you still sitting at the station because you’re afraid to board the train?
Live Video. It’s here, and it’s here to stay.
According to the numbers:
- Businesses using video grow company revenue 49% faster year after year than those without video.
- Video generates 1,200% more shares than text and images combined on social media.
- 8 billion daily views for Facebook Video … get the picture?
It’s here, and I want to get a firm foothold in Live Video now, so I’m participating in a 10 Day Video Challenge hosted by Denise Wakeman and Lou Bortone. Our first class was about Facebook Live. That I can do and have done several times. Our second class was about Instagram Live and Twitter Live. Those were new ones for me. Until now. Well Twitter is still new to me because I’m still trying to figure out how to flip the screen on my phone camera so it’s videoing me and not my surroundings.
Last Thursday, I did my first (well 3rd if you count my first two failed attempts) Instagram Live video. It took me a while, but I got ‘er done! Then on Friday, I tackled Twitter Live and got ‘er done too!
What’s the purpose of this post? To provide encouragement. If I can do it, so can you! So I hope this will encourage you to get out there and see how you can incorporate Live Video into your marketing strategy!
And to prove I’m not asking you to do anything I wouldn’t do, I’m sharing one of my Facebook Live videos here, as well as my first Instagram Live and Twitter Live videos. Twitter was harder for me to do and is not typically something I would want anyone to see … but I’m experimenting and trying them out. So here you go!
Facebook Live:
Instagram Live:
[Note about Instagram Live. Instagram Live videos disappear once they have concluded.
If you want to keep them, you’ll need to save them to your camera roll.]

As you can see, my attempt at Twitter was a little … well maybe more than a little, rough. I’ll keep practicing though and figure out how to get the camera to flip more smoothly, and put a little more effort into the video. For now … I’m just happy I was able to figure it out.
There … I showed you mine, now show me yours!
