Will space elevators soon find a place among commercial elevators? Well, that’s what recent studies seem to suggest. The concept of an “elevator to space” appears to be feasible today – sounds great isn’t it? We may in the foreseeable future see a beanstalk-like space elevator with an Earth-anchored tether that extends up into space and provides safe, affordable, routine and easy access to the Earth’s orbit.
