Honest Real Estate Advice Now & 4 Years Ago

This past weekend, I was called by Sellers who interviewed me to sell their Parkland Home. Ironically, these same sellers called me 4 years ago on their previous home. Unfortunately, I was not hired to sell their previous home, as I suggested an asking price that was lower than their expectations.

I always tell my potential clients that I would rather turn them down today than let them down tomorrow. This is a prime example of how some listing appointments go in the hustle and bustle life of a real estate professional.

After a great appointment, these same sellers hired me to sell their lovely Parkland home. With excitement, as I walked to my car, I already started putting the wheels in motion on the marketing plan of action. Before I could drive off, the sellers stopped me from driving off. The husband wanted to explain what happened on his previous home four years ago, which I never brought up during the listing appointment.

The seller expressed that he listed his last home for a higher price, and actually a buyer agreed to paid higher than my suggested asking price at the time. As a result, the home appraised for the price I suggested, and the sale fell apart. In the end, the sellers did sell the home for approximately the price I had requested they list at during our appointment.

Before I could drive off, the sellers wanted to make sure I knew the story and to ensure that they were confident in my abilities and pricing strategy on their current Parkland Home.

After over four years, I am honored that these same sellers came back to me and are entrusting me with one of their largest financial assets. The moral of the story is that I did not question why they didn’t listen with me, as I strive to always be the ultimate professional. I always express to my clients that I give my very best and honest advice, so I can sleep well every night. Maybe with 14 years of experience, I have always believed in myself and stayed true to my real estate expertise and never waiver.

As a result, my goal is to exceed my clients’ expectations by proving them with the best advice. In the end, my clients will come back to me for all of their real estate needs. In this example, I am truly honored  and appreciative that they came back to me the second time around.
