Cable companies are scratching their collective head at the rapid rise of Netflix. It is by far the most popular source of TV content than any other subscription service.
Surprisingly, it has also outdistanced cable and broadcast TV as the most preferred service based on a survey by Cowen & Co. The future is also looking extremely bright for Netflix because nearly 40% of respondents age 18-34 selected Netflix.
Favorite platform does not always equate to ratings for individual shows, but with this kind of preference it will not be long when Netflix can wield considerable muscle for new Television shows and movies. The next generation is looking for convenience and time-shifting control. That will disrupt television forever.
