At present, there is no national Airline in Cambodia. This has been a major reason for shunting tourism, throughout the country. While most international airlines fly to Phnom Penh and SiemReap, Bangkok Airways, is the only airline connecting the two cities. Other airports are either defunct or used solely as a mlitary base. Also, there are a limited number of international airlines flying out of these cities mainly to China, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Vietnam and Laos.
For most tourists visiting Thailand and the Indochinese region, a national airline essential - especially for those who wish to travel from Phnom Penh or Siem Reap to other places of interest within the country such as Sihanoukville and Koh Kong.
