Revamping & Resolution of Non-Revenue Water for Umred

Water is the main need for all the living beings on the planet. As water fulfills daily need for lifestyle, domestic purposes, irrigation, etc. About 50-60 % of pumped Non-revenue water is lost during transference from water treatment plant. These loses comprise on Non-revenue water showcasing the ratio of the magnitude of Non-revenue water depletion. As of transit charges more as ostensible, to loss of revenues seriously affecting the financial feasibility.

The overall aim of a Non-revenue water distribution system is to bring water to the consumers, at sufficient quality, quantity, residual pressure, with less losses and more delivery of the same. To reach the decided goals, the organization modified the procedures for satisfactory results, efficient and consistent processes at low cost.
Umred Tehsil 50 km from Nagpur City, a class ‘B’ Municipal Council, with a population of 54043.

The Municipal Council in Umred executes non-revenue water supply for all hours of the day to the people, through their water supply scheme. The distribution of this Non-Revenue Water basically has the losses of the commercial, physical and authorized. All the losses of the Non-revenue water is because of the leaking joints, burst pipes, fittings, service pipes, illegal connection, billing errors and inaccurate connection. Scheme was executed to reduce an overall extra use of water, wastage of the same as well as non-revenue water, distribute those equally everywhere so that the consumers get a sufficient quantity to carry on their daily activities, for improving the overall revenue collection, preventing the water shortage especially during dry seasons, reducing the operating cost of the processes needed for the works of water.

Ceinsys Tech Ltd. acted as a central axis for satisfied analysis, evaluation, monitoring. We prepared a GIS map for the consumers for the project linking to a building feature. The GIS maps updates by deleting and adding people on daily basis, hereby giving a daily analysis of the people to the council, for a precise decision making process.
