Here’s Why All The Celebrities Wore Black At Golden Globes Awards 2018

Here’s everything that happened at Golden Globes Awards 2018 | Best moments, best people and best talent.

Heart melting Golden Globes Awards 2018 took place on this Sunday in Los Angeles. This was a huge celebration as it was the 75th anniversary which was expected to be the biggest celebration ever till this date. It was also an opportunity for film stars to wear all black to protest against sexual harassment and in honour of the #timesup. Everyone wore the best of they could but the award ceremony was dominated by the scandals of sexual harassment at work and gender inequality.

Oh My My! So much of talent, beauty and winsomeness all at one place.

Few of the best moments on Golden Globe Awards: Tell us your favourite in the comments below.

Let’s raise a toast to these beautiful words:

“For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dare speak the truth to the power of those men. But their time is up. Their time is up!”

The theme was echoed by Laura Dern, winner of a best-supporting actress for Big Little Lies, who said: “Many of us were taught not to tattle.

“It was a culture of silencing, and that was normalised… May we teach our children that speaking out without the fear of retribution is our culture’s new North Star.”

Here’s the Host:

Seth Meyers hosted a show for the first time and addressed the sexual harassment in Hollywood and he didn’t lower his voice while jokingly taking 3 names in the industry President Donald Trump, Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey associated with the title. Watch it all here.

“Big Little Lies” won best-limited series

“I want to thank everyone who spoke up about abuse or harassment,” said Witherspoon. “You are so brave … Time is up. We see you. We hear you, and we will tell your stories.”

There was a major reason for choosing the black code this year. This was a major protest for all the working ladies and their harassment at workplaces. The name of the protest was “Times Up”. The ‘Times Up’ pin is a symbol of the Times Up movement, which has been formed as a response to the #MeToo viral hashtag. Many women used the hashtag to speak out about their own experiences of sexual assault allegations against Harvey Weinstein. The film producer has since been accused by over 50 women of attacks ranging from sexual harassment to rape.

Celebrities including  Eva Longoria, Ashley Judd, America Ferrera, Natalie Portman, Emma Stone and Reese Witherspoon, Gal Gadot, Jessica Chastain and Mary J. Blige, as well as men including Tom Hiddleston and Dwayne Johnson, were wearing black on the red carpet in solidarity. Barbara Meier, Blanca Blanco, Meher Tatna were some who were missing the black outfits.

The powerful speeches, wittiness and hope of a big change in 2018 just made the 75th Golden Globe Awards a rememberable and remarkable night.
