VSO Choral Auditions set for August 20 and 21

The Valley Symphony Choral will hold auditions on Monday, August 20 and Tuesday, August 21 at the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex Choir Room located at 1201 W. University Drive in Edinburg from 4:00 – 6:00 PM by appointment only. To audition for the all-volunteer VSO Choral requirements include: the ability to sing “Gloria to God” from Messiah by Handel; sing the first phrase of “America the Beautiful”…(O beautiful, for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain) unaccompanied in many different keys and finally a simple sight-reading with an example will also be required.

Visit us online at www.valleyorchestra.org/chorale-auditions to download the audition music.  The Valley Symphony Chorale is set to perform in two major symphonic concerts this season.  A Touch of Frost – VSO Concert III set for Friday, December 7 and again in the Spring on Friday, April 5, 2019, at The 3B’s: Brahms, Beatles And Beethoven – VSO Concert V — the season finale.  To sign up for an audition appointment, email Dr. David Means, Choral Conductor at [email protected].  If selected, be prepared to rehearse on Monday evenings at the UTRGV choir room from 7:00 – 9:30 pm beginning in September.
