How Was Work?

Timelessness aside, Business leaders whose trajectory of personal and collective ongoing improvement seem to effortlessly take fascinating to a whole new level.  These are the types that are imitated but never replicated.  Sometimes their unique talent sickens you when you so much as even glance at their personal or corporate net worth online, compounded by the fact they have a hall pass to get away with murder from a fashion perspective that's a complete 180 from Joe Blow's business casual getup at the water cooler.

Secretly, you despise them, yet the other side of you still wonders what you'd talk about if you had the chance to lunch it up somewhere. 

But I'm not here to talk about jealousy or spite or idolatry - dwell on that stuff too much and you'll wind up in the hospital... or worse, a free ride on the paddy wagon to the nearest sanitarium.

There is too much to gain by observing capitalism of this ilk.  Dedication and discipline make up the majority of this formula, but a good dose of a keen sense of originality or "first in market," are also part of it.  Even as I write this, they're out there on their quest for another prolific idea; onto something bigger, better, and much more financially rewarding.  With no surprise, it's one more project to add to their crowning achievements that outdoes their last.

So here are some other considerations they all have in common to take into account:


  • Productivity Compunction


People and companies like these get just as sick wasting their own time and resources as anyone else who does the same to them.  They're not out to just "survive the day," but wholeheartedly embrace new challenges that were once failures of their past. They are also more often than not time management freaks, and are relentless at being successful in life - even when they're fast asleep. 


  • Excellent Communicators


Industry connections are at their fingertips not because they got lucky, but because they also understand the complexities of profitability being a two way street.  They're societal chameleons, team players, and possess an understanding on how certain personality traits might clash, and then take the necessary steps to adapt accordingly and create value.   


  • Deadline Driven


They don't just dream their lives away.  Their goals are measurable, realistic, and attainable.
