India’s Axis Bank which is the India’s largest bank announced that there are no losses to its customers from the recent cyber attack.

India’s Economics Times paper published that the bank filed a preliminary report about the breach to the regulator. It also stated that the reserve bank of India had hired EY to process the investigation.

In a statement Axis bank said to Reuters that, “internal monitoring mechanism identified such a threat and all the steps are undertaken to resolve this issue.”

The bank also said that “As a responsible financial institution, they have proactively communicated the treats to the regulator.”  There is a large team of it professional who monitor bank system to avoid any threats.

Separately, State bank of India informed on Wednesday that, “They have blocked cards of certain customers, and was issuing them new cards as a precaution of potential risks to those cards.

This issue was not specific with SBI bank.

SBI also informed that, “Card network companies NPCI, MasterCard and visa had already informed various banks in India regarding the potential risks of some card… owing a data breach.”

Cyber attacks on banks and financial institution has a great risk across the world.

In July, State-run Union Bank of India Ltd informed one of the banks was affected with the cyber attack but is was traced and the fund was blocked

One of the biggest cyber attack this year in Bangladesh ICICI bank account with New York Fed round about 81 million $ were stolen.
