Armchair BEA 2014: Introductions and Literature

Welcome to Armchair BEA 2014!

Today is the day that we kick off our fifth annual event that parallels Book Expo America in New York City. This year, we are starting a couple of days earlier than the usual event, which will allow all you participants a little extra time to meet each other and chat from your armchairs before we start bringing in the goodies that we have for you directly from the streets and floors of the Expo.

Throughout this week, we will be posting a variety of things throughout the day. You will see special guest articles, announcements of our giveaway winners and special featured giveaways, as well as articles, photos, and videos live from BEA. We will have multiple posts each and every day, so make sure you are following along closely so you don't miss out on any of the action. SOURCE: Armchair Bea Headquarters

INTRODUCTIONS:

Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging? Where in the world are you blogging from?

Hi! My name is Vanessa. I am 25 years old and currently living in the Philippines. I started blogging when I was 17, just a little bit of this and that, no specific theme. Then I became a web & blog designer and loved blogging even more!

Bluest Ribbon, my official book blog, came to be on March 2012. I am a regular reviewer at Goodreads and thought, why not start a book blog? So here we are! Best. Decision. Ever.

Describe your blog in just one sentence. Then, list your social details -- Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. -- so we can connect more online.

A straight-to-the-point book review blog with minimal verbal filter!

What was your favorite book read last year? What’s your favorite book so far this year?

Magic Rises by Ilona Andrews (2013) and The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line by Rob Thomas, Narrated by Kristen Bell (audible, 2014). I'm a marshmallow and pissed that they didn't show the movie here in the Philippines.

Share your favorite book or reading related quote.

What book would you love to see as a movie?

That's an easy one! The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, no explanation needed (read my review here).

LITERATURE:

What do you think of when you think of literature? Classics, contemporary, genre, or something else entirely? We are leaving this one up to you to come up with and share the literature that you want to chat about the most. Feel free to share a list of your favorites, break down your favorite genre, feature your favorite authors, and be creative about all things literature in general.

Literature is everywhere. In a non-traditional sense & outside of formal learning, literature is a form of art in words. For me, it is not bound by genre, by author, or even by the material used. So when I think of literature, I think of everything!
