What did I like?
So Pimp in the Pulpit revolves around a dysfunctional family. At the center of this is a party to be held for Lilian McBride or Lucifer, that no one wants to go to or even deal with. McRae does a good job with presenting this dysfunction within the family surrounding this one event. The dialogue is funny, witty, bitter, quirky and everything in-between

What I didn’t like?

The book was only 35 pages long, yet it contained so many characters that it was easy to get lost. There were parts where I had to go back to what I had read to see what had happened. There wasn’t enough depth where the characters were concerned. Finally, the tense of the book changed a few times from speech in past tense to present tense. I couldn’t tell if this was something intentionally done or if editing was necessary.
