But users quickly figured out what to do with it and made it a world-wide chatting medium.
It became wildly popular. We interacted with hundreds of our new best friends all over the globe. We bitched and raved and told each other what we had for lunch. We felt like citizens of the world.
Then Twitter decided that imitating Facebook would make more money so it imposed an ungainly Facebook-style header, loaded up on “promoted” Tweets, invented algorithms that made communicating less easy and, worst of all, it introduced the dreaded Facebook 💗
The 💗 has almost killed Twitter as an interactive medium.
A 💗 is for Facebook, not Twitter.
You'll get nothing out of Twitter if you use 💗s the way you do on Facebook.
To respond to someone’s Tweeted thought or promo with a 💗 is really quite rude.
It’s like a condescending smirk.
A pat on the head.
A failure to communicate.
An admission of indifference.
You may say: But I’m too busy to chat.
Okay, then RT the Tweet so others with more time & inclination can read it and maybe chat or whatever.
An RT takes exactly the same amount of time as a 💗 and reaches your followers & their followers & so on. Potentially hundreds, thousands, even millions of people will see what you like.
A 💗 reaches ONE person.
You’ll never make a contact or a sale with a 💗

It’s about telling the world.
💗ing on Twitter is selfish. Your followers can’t see what you 💗
Some of them might have something to say about it.
Some of them might want to buy what you 💗
But they can’t because they can’t see it.
ADVERTISERS are the only ones who benefit from your 💗s
They check out your toolbar to see what they can sell you based on your 💗s
So, remember that when you 💗 something, you’re communicating with ADVERTISERS & ignoring Tweeters.
If you don’t RT what you like to your followers, Twitter will never be anything more than an advertising platform for big brands and famous people.
