Everyone was once a child and as a child growing up it is not always easy when you get called all kinds of names under the sun. As you know I love kids books and I am always enthusiastic when I pick a new Book. Be it from the library or the ones I purchase online, it is just pure joy. I truly enjoyed reading this book with my sons. I feel like it made me giggle in some parts, but that's just me I have always had a quirky sense of humour. It is a book that starts off on a bit of a negative tone and turns out positive in the end with Eric turning out to be  a hero that saves the day. Heroes are born in the least expected of people, and Eric is one of them.Name calling is quite common at home or in schools within family or even friends and Eric is in such a place where he is subdued to this. In a way I feel for him but its truly inspiring that in spite of this he turns all this negativity into wanting to help others by telling the monster off. Eric gets called all kinds of names and still stands up and faces his fear. The monster represents the kind of society we live in(in my opinion)The book is written in a well structure  with the lovely illustrations of Eric and the monster. I would recommend this book to every parent, it teaches your child real life lessons, how to turn negative experiences into positive ones and to face your monsters and not run away.

What was my favourite part of the book?
When everyone runs away and hides in the castle..

What was my least favourite part of the book?
The name calling of little Eric, being called a Twit..so forth. So not cool

Would I recommend this book to anyone?
Yes most definitely, we need such books that touch on true issues that people experience especially good for kids.
