Wildcard (Warcross #2)-Book Review

Emika Chen barely made it out of the Warcross Championships alive. Now that she knows the truth behind Hideo’s new NeuroLink algorithm, she can no longer trust the one person she’s always looked up to, who she once thought was on her side.

Determined to put a stop to Hideo’s grim plans, Emika and the Phoenix Riders band together, only to find a new threat lurking on the neon-lit streets of Tokyo. Someone’s put a bounty on Emika’s head, and her sole chance for survival lies with Zero and the Blackcoats, his ruthless crew. But Emika soon learns that Zero isn’t all that he seems–and his protection comes at a price.

Caught in a web of betrayal, with the future of free will at risk, just how far will Emika go to take down the man she loves?

MY THOUGHTS

“The mind can make you believe whatever it wants you to believe.”

Wildcard is my one of the most anticipated read of this year, I only had 2 ACOFAS turns out a disappointed one, I was waiting for Wildcard so badly. It is my Warcross review which will give you an idea what was my feeling towards it.WARCROSS-Book Review

I read Warcross in 24 hours, and for wildcard, it took me 7 days…Huge difference Right?. First I try to console me by saying that I am busy and not getting so much solid time to read that’s why I am not enjoying it, As I turned pages after pages, I realized It is a shallow reason I was giving to myself. It lacks so many things.

Let’s talk about What I expected and what we got?

Warcross? A tiny bit of Warcross was there.
Emika and Hideo? There was only a minor point where the story was focused on both, mainly it was focused on Zero and others.
Plot twists? There weren’t any which made me surprised, and these weren’t new, I’ve already read these concepts in other books which left me comparing wildcard with other.

“Tearing something down isn’t the end; doing something great, or better, something right, is.”

I enjoyed some parts, but I found myself skimming a lot in many parts, There was so much action when I was looking for more story. For the last 80 pages, I was like when It is going to end.

“Every problem has a solution. But after every solution, there’s a new problem to tackle, some new challenge to take on.”

I had high expectations from it and it really disappointed me. WHY MARIE LU?WHY?
