The first chapter of my second novel is done. The first 7.5k words. I’m Enjoying the freedom I feel with this novel (i.e. I feel I’ve already proved myself with The Jesus Man), not being bound by a story that is already mapped out. The research for it has been very interesting too, I’ve taken in info about navigation, 19th Century ship building, same century advancement in firearms technology and cultural references of the time. Enjoying the history lesson, the reference material I’m having to order and I appreciate the help of local sailor Craig Robinson, a source of invaluable information!
