In The Depths: A Novel (DeSai Trilogy) Vampire legends

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Cyril DeSai is an ancient vampire who has it all, but he is missing one thing: a family. He had been waiting so long. Soon, he would begin to re-establish himself. This was everything he had wanted for literally hundreds of years; since the end of the last time, anyway. But he had won, and after a time it had faded. Slowly and patiently he had put his ‘life’ back together again. He had focused on what he needed and what he wanted: a family. His intense focus was finally paying off; they had arrived. Once the first bite had taken place he had felt the rush of their existence, and it had woken him out of a dead sleep. Yes, someone was in his lair. Someone had found his truth and decided to explore it, much to their own personal detriment. What a gift! With four he could begin his family much, much faster than usual. But he is still missing one essential thing that will make his family complete. It is not the power he has gained, or the adoration or recognition. No, the one thing this Master of the Darkness is missing is a queen to rule by his side, a woman as cold and heartless as he himself. In Rasia he tasted something in her he had never tasted in a woman before: evil, pure and simple. She had a heart as black as his. The only thing separating them was that he would live forever, and until he had her she would not. To Cyril DeSai, that makes her perfect.

REVIEW

RWK Clark has hit this one out of the ballpark! 27 May 2017

Finally, a book about vampires that doesn’t sugar-coat, romanticizes, or fluff things up. In the Depths introduced me to Cyril DeSai, the ultimate evil vampire. He isn’t going to be happy spending his eternity on the run, Cyril plans to take over the entire world, and he does it by turning a group of poor, unsuspecting divers into his first children. Before I knew it, the man was rising to power as a beloved leader rather than a vile monster, which is precisely what is frightening about vampires to begin with! They are supposed to be sexy, charismatic, and evil to the core, and DeSai is just that. But when Rasia Engres enters the picture with her own terrible plot, DeSai begins to seem more like a victim than the victor, I’m sure other readers won’t even see her coming! I loved this book; Rwk Clark hit it out of the ballpark!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

RWK Clark is a single father of two living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Beginning his career long ago as a computer programmer, and working his way up to IT Director he ultimately decided that it is time to publish one of his novels. It is important to note here that Clark enjoys all forms of artistic expression and is an accomplished Fine Art Photographer in his own right, even having his own studio. He admires many great artists of the past and he pours the same hard work and dedication into his writing that he does his photography. This is a man who knows what he wants and he has worked tirelessly to achieve exactly that.

That same type of drive and devotion show up time and time again in his own books. Many times, the central character will have an insatiable thirst for a particular goal and will stop at virtually nothing to achieve it. While no one would ever assume that Clark would go nearly as far as some of his characters in order to achieve what he wants, it is obvious that he made a decision for himself long ago to create a life that was joyous and full of adventure and he has managed to make that goal become a reality.

Currently, RWK Clark has written numerous books, most of them dealing with some aspect of the supernatural realm. Some deal with zombies or witchcraft while others focus more on vampires and some even manage to combine the two. One thing is certain, if you enjoy this type of genre and you want a large body of material that you can read through, this is the ideal place to start looking. Clark’s books certainly never leave you disappointed but what they do accomplish is leaving you wanting to come back for more, again and again.
