A Shower of Hues

The ground strewn with shards of beauty

Autumn leaves, in every shade and hue

Curled up, dry and cracked

Yet fresh, with color and life

Bathing the Landscape in an aura of red, orange and yellow

The whole sunkissed landscape like a drizzle of flaming colors

The occasional sparkle of sunlight

From amongst the crimson splatter of leaves

Shackled to dark, wiry, branches

Desperately trying to escape

Aided by a naughty little breeze

Fluttering gleefully

The prettiest picture I’ve seen in a while

I sigh to myself

As I tilt my head and wake up

From my alluring autumn daydream
