Confidence as a Writer: Why It’s Important

At the beginning of last month, I gave a talk at the UK Southern Book Show in Worthing (near Brighton). Whilst I’ve done presentations and public speaking before, this was a first for me as an editor.

During the talk, I covered two main points of interest;

  1. Knowing your craft
  2. Having confidence

Both of which are incredibly important – especially for new writers – for success. They may sound straight forward but you would be surprised. I use a couple of examples of authors I’ve worked with and how these two points could help improve and strengthen their writing.

The video has been filmed on an iPhone by someone from the audience and lighting is quite poor so bear with me. (And despite the empty seats in front, there was a healthy number of people listening, I even spoke to a few afterwards).
