Saree and blouse are a pair made in heaven

I belong to the fraternity of army wives and wearing Saree is our unofficial dress code. Sometimes I do change into different sort of sarees in a single day. Like a crisp cottony saree along with quarter sleeved Blouse for a welfare function at 4PM which would finish sharp by 5 PM then a quick change onto a easy breezy chiffon saree with a sleeveless blouse for a coffee evening event at 6 PM sharp which would finish by 7PM and then a glamorous georgette saree with a designer halter blouse for a social evening which would start sharp at 8PM. The dress codes are already dictated and we are expected to stick to that. Yes! Welcome to the world of fauji wives!

The sarees and Blouses are integrated part of our army lives and aids to our undisputed grace. Though I will agree with the fact that wearing this six yard of cloth piece is not a joke and if you are not used to of this exquisite piece of cloth then life might just be a little messy.

Saree and blouse are integral Indian Identity, not just clothes!

But not just army world, sarees and blouses are widely popular among the Indian women so much so that it distinguishes the identity of an indian woman from all the other women of the rest of the world. There is a reason when short skirt clad bollywood heroines choose to wear elegant sarees and different sort of blouses on global platform. Infact our beloved Priyanka Chopra enhanced the entire saree swag by the thumkas in a saree and crowned herself as ‘Desi Girl‘ forever.

So is the saga of sarees and its two thousand year old romance with the women of this continent. More than just a cloth piece a saree is a proud part of our culture which is as old as our existence.

A saree is a kind of cloth you take seriously! And we can not imagine a saree without a blouse. Infact saree and blouse are more like a synonymous term. The blouse has power to glamourise even a simple cotton saree ten times more than it should be whereas a bad choice of blouse can label you as tacky, shabby or worst ‘behenji’ even with the finest of drapes.

So a blouse is the single most attention seeking cloth which is more important than the saree itself ,if you ask me!

And as you know that being an army wife make me a saree pro that I am completely able to slay all sort of different saree looks in a single day. And I achieve this impossible looking task with the help of different types of blouses which help me to achieve all sort of looks I want and also keeping few things in mind regarding blouses will enhance your saree wearing experience and make it super easy. You must have at least one sequenced blouse preferably golden sequence blouse with you. Then shimmer is another good choice preferably black and you can choose to raw silk or cotton embroidered sort of blouses for multicolour ones. Then silver blouses are best in high shimmer fabrics and also in sequenced form. Sequence and shimmer are ulimate choices for wedding wears or party wears.

The indo fusion blouses like a collar band full sleeved blouse could easily go with flowy silhouettes of a chiffon saree or a boat neck raw silk blouse with floral prints would steal the show when teamed up with any block coloured georgette saree for a cocktail evening. And the patch work on deep neck round silk blouse would instantly zing up your look. The choices are endless.
