Growing older is audacious darling

How Young at Heart are you?  I racked up another year on this planet over the weekend.  I have tried to forget the number.  Age is just that.  A number.  A state of mind.  Whether you want to treat your age as X years young or X years old, it is up to you.  Only you can judge if your glass is half empty or half full.  My glass of wine was full for most of the weekend. Why not?  Life is to be celebrated.  Growing older means that bits of you might hurt.  Some bits might not work at all any anymore.  Overall you care a great deal less about what other people have to say about you and that in itself is a liberating feeling.  What is more, we have such great role models to learn from.

Joanna Lumley

Joanna Lumley … absolutely fabulous at 69

I’ve looked forward to being older because you will have that many more miles covered. We mustn’t be led into thinking getting old is bad. Growing old is good.

The amazing Judi Dench

‘Don’t grow up, it’s against the rules’

We may winge and moan about getting older but, hey, it ain’t all that bad.    It’s what you feel in your heart that is important. So … set yourself new challenges every day and live a little more.  Carpe diem.
