Skoshbox July 2016 “Japan Box” Review & Coupon Code

I first reviewed Skoshbox back in January, when they had just 2 different boxes available — now they have 3! They’re newest is the “Japan Box” and it’s HUGE.

If you’re new to them, Skoshbox is a fun subscription box that sends you a selection of unique Japanese candies and snacks every month. Each box will feature 100% authentic Japanese snacks and treats hand-selected by the team at Skoshbox. Every item will include an English ingredients list, so you’ll always know exactly what’s inside. Depending on which box you choose, you’ll also receive mystery items/toys!

Let’s see what’s in the July 2016 Skoshbox Japan Box!

As with all Skoshbox boxes, the Japan Box was covered in cuteness.

A peek inside!

A full-color information booklet listed all of the items in all 3 sizes of the July Skoshbox. Ingredients were also included for each one.

Matcha Truffle Chocolates – This package contains individually wrapped matcha flavored truffles that look delicious. They’re made with real green tea, cacao mass, milk powder, and other natural ingredients. If I weren’t vegan, these would already be long gone.

Pure Gummy Blood Orange Gummy Candy – Sugar-coated gummy candies with a sweet, gooey blood orange center. Another item I would have already devoured if I ate gelatin. I love blood orange flavored candy.

Pompompurin Pudding Pop – Can this packaging get any cuter?? Inside is one pudding flavored lollipop.

Shiso Plum Flavored Sora Mame Bean Snack – It looks like these crunchy plum-flavored beans are the sole vegan-friendly snack in the box. While I’m glad to see something I can personally try, I’m a little nervous to find out what plum-flavored beans actually taste like. (Beany plums?)

Dekavita C Drink – I’ve gotten many different energy drinks for review, but never one from Japan. Pretty neat! It also looks like it might be vegan-friendly too.

Jersey Milk Cookies – A full-sized box of moist, chewy Jersey milk flavored cookies. While the photo shows what looks to be a chocolate chip cookie, the ingredients only list white chocolate (not cocoa), so I’m not totally sure if chocolate chips are involved here.

Jajachoco Honey Butter – Welp, this is one item that I totally don’t mind not being vegan-friendly. It looks like these are honey-butter coated potato chips. Ingredients include potato pellets, milk powder, cocoa butter, cheese powder, honey, butter, and more. (Yikes!)

Hello Kitty Ichigo Marshmallow – Yay! A Hello Kitty snack! This adorable package contains four little fluffy marshmallows with a pink strawberry filling.

Sequoia Matcha Choco Wafer – This kinda looks like a Japanese take on a traditional Kit Kat bar. It features crispy wafers surrounded by chocolate and matcha green tea flavoring.

Sour Switch Cola Gummies – Cola-flavored gummy candies that switch from sweet to sour (or sour to sweet?).

Milky Candy – Another adorably packaged treat! This box contains individually wrapped, soft and creamy milk-flavored candies.

Baked Apple Chocolates – Pop these tiny apple-flavored squares in the toaster for a few seconds for a warm & tasty treat.

Kaomoji-Neko – The optional mystery accessory for the Dekabox (automatically included in Japan Box) was this crazy cute “bottle of emoji cats”! I have no idea where I’m going to put this tiny vessel of cuteness, but I LOVE it.

Re-Ment Rilakkuma Blind Box Toy – Also exclusive to the Japan Box was this adorable Rilakkuma Kaiten Sushi Mascot Blind Box Toy. It looks like there are 8 different sushi-themed sets to collect in all. I received the “dessert” set which included all of the tiny pieces in my photo above. So cute! (FYI: This is currently selling for $11.95 on Amazon!)

The July Japan Box from Skoshbox was absolutely packed with snacks, treats, and trinkets! While I can’t personally eat the majority of the items, I’m sure my kiddos will love ’em. Plus, I’m now the proud owner of bottled emoji cats! — Remember, you can use coupon code “ROSEBUDS2” at checkout to save $2 on any subscription plan!
