August 2018 PostBox by Postmark’d Studio review time!

If you haven’t heard, PostBox by Postmark’d Studio is a new subscription box that features artisanal greeting cards and postcards created by artists around the globe. Each box will include 4 greeting cards, 1 postcard, postage stamps, and a fun artsy item such as a pen, pencil, or knick-knack based on that month’s particular theme. The cards are all handcrafted by a variety of different artists/companies, which means you’ll get a nice sampling of unique designs to send to your friends and loved ones.

Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.

Subscriptions are $25/month (plus $5 shipping), or less with multi-month commitments. — For a limited time, you can save 40% on your 1st box when you sign up for a 3-month subscription! — Just use coupon code “2LRB404ME” at checkout.

Let’s see what’s in the August 2018 Postmark’d PostBox!

Everything was shipped in a small white box with a Postmark’d Studio logo on top.

A peek inside!

All boxes come with a hand-written note from the founder. Such a nice touch!

A 2-sided info card revealed the theme for August’s PostBox — “Starry Nights”! It also listed all of the cards included, along with the artists who made them. The reverse side of the info card gave subscribers some helpful tips for sending fan mail (aka mail sent to a “star” 😉 ).

As always, the items were all neatly stacked together and secured with a pretty ribbon.

When it Rains Ginger P. Designs/Janesville, MN

This card is designed to look like the star-filled night sky as it encourages the recipient to look at the positive side of things with the phrase: When it rains look for rainbows. When it’s dark look for stars. It has pretty rose gold accents over a black background, with the inside blank (white) for you to add your personal message.

Aurora Borealis 3D Stereo Photography/Santa Barbara, CA

What a pretty postcard! — It was created using lenticular printing technology, which gives it the illusion of depth and movement when viewed from different angles. It’s hard to really tell from the photo above, but it looks really neat in person. 🙂

Mountains of Thanks Hello! Lucky/San Francisco, CA

Send somebody a “mountain of thanks” with this gold foil embellished card from Hello! Lucky. It’s made with 100% recycled paper and comes with a kraft paper envelope for mailing.

Thinking of You Inkerbell

The perfect card to send just to let someone know they’re on your mind. As with the other cards, this is blank inside and comes with a coordinating envelop. It’s also printed on 100% recycled paper made with 100% certified renewable energy.

You’re So Stellar! Wild Ink Press/Chico, CA

Let a stellar friend know just how stellar they are with this letterpress card from Wild Ink Press. It’s printed on 100% recycled card stock and is blank inside. An orange foil envelope coordinates beautifully with the orange foil accents in the design.

Marco Jumbo Metallic Colored Pencils (linked to similar)

Not only do these pencils have fun, metallic colors — they’re also jumbo-sized! And just in case you don’t have a jumbo-sized pencil sharpener laying around, the box even includes one. Score! 🙂

Moon Log Book from Big Wheel Press

This little notebook is letterpress/hot foil stamped and bound with the finest quality Strathmore Writing Papers. It measures 4″ x 5.25″ and has 32 unlined pages for jotting down random thoughts or silly doodles.

Far Out Patch from Lucky Horse Press

A cute, retro-inspired patch that you can tuck inside one of your handwritten notes. This little guy is 100% embroidered, measures 2.75 inches in diameter, and can be easily ironed onto your fabric of choice. Far out, man!

Postage

Enough postage was provided to mail all 5 greeting cards. We got four featuring astronaut Sally Ride and one with a seashell. (Hey, they can’t all fit the theme. 😉 )

Postmark’d Studio Postcard & Pencil

As always, a thick/sturdy Postmark’d Studio postcard and pencil were also included.

Yet another out of this world collection from PostBox! The starry nights theme was great and I loved the non-card “extras”.  — Remember, for a limited time you can save 40% on your 1st box when you sign up for a 3-month subscription! — Just use coupon code “2LRB404ME” at checkout.

What do the stars mean?

= Crummy ★★ = Just Okay ★★★ = Good ★★★★ = Awesome ★★★★★ = Extraordinarily Awesome
