Have a BlackBerry Priv on Verizon? Surprise! You'll want to go ahead and check for updates as many folks have now started receiving a software update. I'd say it was a new update but really, it just seems to be a 'new to Verizon' update because after all is said and done, it shows build number AAV985 with the October 5, 2017 security patch.

Even Verizon's own software update page for the Priv doesn't offer much for details, simply noting 'Android Security Patch Level: 2017-10-05 + Spectre security patch. The current software update gives you the most up to date Android security patches on your device.'

Something has changed, however, outside of regular norms to cause Verizon to push this update out, so if you haven't already got it downloaded and installed, make sure you do so as soon as possible.
