Beyonce recently pulled out of the desert festival in Indio, California on doctor’s orders, and now fellow pop superstar Lady Gaga has taken the reins over the headlining slot on Saturday.
Announcing the news on Twitter, Lady Gaga wrote: ‘Let’s party in the desert’ with accompanying foliage emoji.

It’s certainly one of the few popstars who would cause least outrage by replacing Queen Bey, and following her stellar Superbowl halftime show, it was probably a no-brainer for organisers.
The sweltering desert location seems like a perfect showcase for Gaga’s latest album, Joanne, which is teeming with country-inspired jams and vigorous anthems about John Wayne.
She joins some pretty impressive company too, with Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead also set to headline the festival.
Other acts scattered throughout the line-up include Bon Iver, The xx, Lorde, Justice and New Order.
