How City Stadium became Tok Komwanda

With Gor Mahia on the verge of winning their first Premier League title in 18 years the young generation of soccer fans have been struggling to get up to speed with the team's vast history. Questions such as why is City Stadium, a stadium where Kogalo plays her home matches, called Tok Komwanda have been lingering on the fan's mind.
Here is the history according to an Old Gor Mahia fan who hails from Kaloleni Estate Nairobi--->
Jaduong' Omwanda was a popular old man and an ardent fan of Gor Mahia Football club.  He used to feed the players and wash their playing kits for free. This was at a time where clubs in Kenya were supported by well wishers, not sponsors as is the case today. He has a story of not attending to his daughter's marital negotiation since Gor Mahia had a crucial match on the same day.
Mr Omwanda was an employee of the Nairobi City Council and lived in Kaloleni is an estate next to city stadium. The name Tok komwanda is a luo word meaning next to Omwanda's home.
Popular luo joint like K'anyim Bar was also located in this estate. Barrack Obama senior  was a frequent visitor at this pub. In fact he was involved in that fateful road accident along Ngong Road while from K'anyim bar.
