The Indian Premier League is back! Every year this form of cricket just keeps increasing in viewer stats. What is it behind this, never would I have once imagined happening cricketing versions success? I decided to consider simple explanations to why I watch it.

I like the compact 20 over concept; from the usual 50 over match. It’s more exhilarating. Just four hours of live streaming. It’s like watching a movie and having a slow, fast forward mode option on your remote which enables to view the movie faster; thus saving time and effort of not needing to watch the longer version, plus you still get the same content told in a quicker, yet entertaining manner.

IPL has an assortment of players. I get to see all my favorite local and international players, now and then in the same box. What I like is the choices I have with regard to the teams to support.The freedom I feel when I know that it’s ok to decide on any team based on the players I like. What more could I ask for.

Then, comes the money they get paid. Just imagining the zeros on the amount they were bid on, makes me dizzy :-)

For a new upcoming player who has yet to make his mark or has not completely made it, IPL is indeed his platform. I am just awed by the way the players adapt to the changing external environment, as well as the switch in their mindset. It feels like a 20 over match requires a much more freeing, letting go, aggressive mind power and techniques, those who have no inhibition and are passionate about the game. I wonder if IPL could help understand a player’s playing personality. Hmm!

So, all I can say is this form of cricket is worth the watch. If one wants to learn the rule of cricket without getting bored, this is it.Each year IPL is booming, getting bigger and better.
