Blogging is not a project, but a way of life

A contributed post by Kazim Raza.

Blogging has become a way of life for me

I want to keep writing blog posts until I’m 80, 90 or older.

Back in the 1960s people started Running to feel better. English Wikipedia tells you it was Arthur Lydiard who popularised this and turned it into a movement.

Before 1962 people thought you were a crazy if you went out running and came back all sweaty, simply because of the desire to move. Then running became a way of life.

Running is not just a necessity to get quickly from A to B, but something you have to do if you have taken the bug and your legs allow it.

Along with Blogging, running is another of my passions, although at the moment I’m not giving it the priority it deserves.

At the moment it’s nothing more than 2 times a week (Saturday and Sunday). During the week I do not want to go without sleep to run. Yes call it an excuse, but getting up at 5 in the morning is not for me anymore.

Blogging as a lifestyle

For anyone who says this sport is part of their life, I go out every weekend throughout the year. There are no exceptions. My wife already knows this and she does it too.

We plan our days around training. I keep in shape because I feel good and I know that in a couple of months I will be able to run my eleventh marathon. For the past eight years this has become a way of life for me.

Blogging has started to be part of my daily routine. In 2012 it was a challenge to see if it is possible to write a daily post. It still is, but it has also become a necessity. It is something that makes you feel good because you receive so much more than you invest.

In the last century people have evolved by taking up new customs. The same could be said for blogging. People don’t want to know what they’re supposed to know, but I want to write about it. Your blog is your business card.

I want to continue blogging until I’m 80, 90 or older

I am serious about this. A project is something that you start and finish. It has a beginning and an end. A blog is started but in theory it never ends. It becomes a way of life.

I hope to be able to continue publishing daily posts when I am 80 or 90 years old, presuming I get to be that age. My father was still running aged 78. In my case I had to wait until I was 65 to run more than him.

In times where the nobodies are the new somebodies, you cannot miss the opportunity to create your personal image and leave your mark online. There will come a time where having a blog is not optional.

It will be essential to blog as it is today to speak English or if you are a student having been abroad for a year. Technology and tools are at your fingertips. Do not miss this opportunity.

If you want to start blogging you do not have to write every day. You have to write a little at a time to find that point where you really like it and you do not want to leave it anymore.

The important thing is to enjoy what you are doing. In my case I am lucky to have achieved it.

Is blogging a way of life for you too?

Is blogging for you a lifestyle choice or would you define it with other words?
