Nothing improves the appearance of a room quite like a fresh coat of paint. I was thrilled to team up with HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams for this blog post. I had been thinking about repainting our kitchen for a while now, it felt a little drab. A few of the walls were almost a light pink/gray with a white border near the ceiling. Then there was a cabinet/hallway area and rest of the kitchen that was sort of white. To top it off, the previous paint job had missed some spots and the perfectionist in me noticed it whenever I walked into the kitchen. The harmony was missing. I knew a light and bright paint would make the space feel clean and inviting.

I headed to Lowe’s and picked up Greek Villa (HGSW4030) a color from Thoughtful Living, one of the HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams 2018 Color Collections of the Year.
Don’t forget to pick up brushes, a roller, paint tray, tape, and any other essentials.
Here is the kitchen cabinet/hall before painting.
I wasn’t a fan of the brown cabinets (especially since the rest of the cabinets were painted a different color) or how someone had painted around the top handles and didn’t remove them. I got to work and started behind the counter and under the cabinets. It was looking better already.
Greek Villa (HGSW4030) was doing wonders to the space.
All done and much better!
I would love to do something with the counter now that the rest of the area looks so great.
Meanwhile, this is what the rest of the kitchen looked like. I continued painting and brightening up the room.
The transformation after painting over the border was amazing. The room appeared cleaner and larger without the distracting border on top.
