Building your List and Keeping It

If you are trying to build your list for an email marketing campaign or newsletters, an easy way to accomplish this is through free traffic exchanges. However, there is a strategy that must be followed to make your list building efforts pay off. With this technique, you want to offer something of high value in exchange for the reader's name and email address. Options for Bonuses to offer are Monthly Newsletters, E-zines, or Free Reports that contain real content and value. Make your free offer short and make it simple to sign up. A very long sign up form that is exhausting to even look at makes people want to go somewhere easier to get information.

If you want to have your subscribers sign up and organized for sending e-mail follow-ups, you might want to take a look at http://www.mailchimp.com/. MailChimp is a free email marketing program (it becomes a pay service after 500 recipients sign up to your list). You can also use a pay service such as www.aweber.com. These programs make it very easy to send your subscribers e-mails with the click of a button. You can also pre-schedule when you want each subscriber to receive the message. Once you build your list, deliver the free report and then wait a week to deliver your free newsletter. I suggest that you have your Free Newsletter prepared in advance so you do not have to struggle to get it done once you start to build your list. Use several pieces that you have written on the subject. Give your reader tips and strategies that are not available on your blog posts. Use any publisher tool to make the Newsletter look good. Adding a company logo or pictures of yourself help make the Newsletter original and one-of-a-kind.

Do NOT try to sell anything in the initial free report. The idea is for subscribers to stay subscribed to your mailing list. Sales pitches can cause the subscriber to ignore your e-mails, or opt-out of your list. (Opt-outs are bad mmm’kay?) After you have built a rapport with your subscribers, then it is okay to offer services and products that will truly benefit them and help them reach their goals. Remember it is okay to make money online if you are helping people get the results that they are seeking. People generally do not mind you making money as long as they get some benefit as well.

If you follow these simple steps, you will be well on your way to creating a responsive and interested list.  That should be your ultimate goal in list building. This way you can be assured that your e-mails and offers will be opened by your subscribers. Remember that that if you build your list to be responsive, it will yield better results and make it easier for you to make money online.

Now go build your list and begin to make money online!  Good Luck.
