Sanjay Dutt -The Criminal Star

Sanjay Dutt

Its very nice to see movies now and then, but there is one movie that is making too much fuss around here in public nowadays. Yes, your guess is right we are talking about “Sanju” movie; the biopic based on famous actor Sanjay Dutt. Every news channel, tv shows, and radio stations are praising Ranbir Kapoor’s acting and direction skill of Raju Hirani. It is believed that this movie is going to cross 500 corers collection soon. Well, of course, it is whole team efforts that we are talking about, but we must not forget about the man who had lived this life and still ravishing it. Yes! None other than Sanjay Dutt! Sanjay Dutt had been always in news since when he had started his career from 1981. He is spoiled in his childhood days, as his father is a veteran actor and renown politician of that time Mr Sunil Dutt. His mother, Nargis also was a very famous actress. Too much attention, money, as usual, made him go spoil.

His early life:

It is said and Sanjay also had committed that, he smoked his first cigarette when he was at just nine. His father Sunil Dutt used to smoke with his friends during parties at their home. One day out of curiosity Sanjay took a sip of cigarette. When his father found out he was very angry, but he was also disturbed. It was his friend and senior politician Indira Gandhi who suggested him to admit Sanjay Dutt at boarding school, where he would learn some discipline. Well, off course I think it is in vain because if we see what he has gone through and what he has done in his life journey we can say that boarding was not a right key to make him disciplined. Sanjay Dutt was very near to his mother. It was very hard for him to digest the abrupt death of Nargisji, at that time the problem of drug taking had started. He was already spoiled and had a taste of drugs and alcohol, this tragedy just made it worse. Even Sanjay Dutt said in his interview that he used to take drugs even in shootings on the set of his first film Rocky. Well, it was a very intense moment when Sanjay Dutt realised that this problem of the drug had become a big problem in his life. One day he came home fully wasted, and he woke up two days after. He didn’t realise what had happened when one of the eldest and oldest servant started crying only then Sanjay Dutt realised he had pushed his life towards the hell. At that time he put courage and had a talk with his father about his drug problem. His been send to a rehabilitation centre where he gets freed from his drug issue.

Sanjay Dutt Movies:

Well, Sanjay had inherited an acting skill from his parents. He started his film career from movie Rocky in 1981. He was starring against new actress Tina Munim.  Well, the movie not only gave him star status but also it started his love affair with a costar. Well, this affair with Tina Munim was ended due to Sanjay Dutt’s drug problem. After completing rehabilitation process, he made comeback in 1985 with Jaan ki Bazi, but what made him successful was movie Naam. Sanjay Dutt had always said that he was very grateful to Mahesh Bhatt or establishing him again in the industry.  In 80’s he gave movies like Naam, Kabja, Hatyaar, Khatranak, Thanedar, Yalgaar, Aatish etc.

In the 90’s, the first half was really successful like Saajan, Sadak and Khalnayak. Well, we all know what went wrong then. Sanjay Dutt also had affection for underworld and weapons. His foolishness during 1993 lands him in a big problem because he hides an AK-56 rifle in his house. Well, there are some news stating that it was not only one rifle, but it is controversial to talk. After bailed in 1997 he made comeback with Daud which was a flop but after that, he got success with Khoobsurat, Daag, Kartoose and Vaastav. Well, what made him sensation is, of course, Munnabhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munnabhai.

Sanjay Dutt and controversies:

It is said that when you reach at the top it is most likely that you fall badly. That’s what had happened with junior Dutt. In the film industry, he was known as a bad boy for drug taking. But what made him more controversial was, being possessive about her ex-girlfriend Tina Munim. It is said that after breaking up with Sanjay, she had get closed with Rishi Kapoor which makes Sanjay Dutt furious and he with his then friend Gulshan Grover thrust in Rishi Kapoor’s house to have bitter words. Well at that time Rishi Kapoor’s wife Nitusingh handle the situation and assure Sanjay Dutt that there is nothing going on between both of them. But the damage had done, in film industry Sanjay Dutt marked as a possessive bad boy.

After this he made friends in the underworld, well he stated that it happened eventually and coincidently and didn’t deny it saying that he had done this for his own protection. But it is the biggest mistake he had ever made in his life. In 1993, during Mumbai bomb-blasts for sake of his family safety, he kept the weapon in his house, which lay the bad path for his downfall from stardom. When he was arrested by the Mumbai police for interrogation, Sunil Dutt rushed to the police station. What shocked him the most when he asked Sanjay Dutt,” Why did you do that? Is it true or not?”. He replied,” I couldn’t hold myself. I have Muslim blood in my veins. I couldn’t bear what is happening in the city.“. It was heading news for the news channel and newspapers. Immediately, Sunil Dutt left the police station with disgust. Surprisingly, he wore the Tilak on his forehead while going for hearing in the court. Of course, that was done intentionally. He cried in front of tv reporters while interviewing.  Well, what broke him was a different thing.

It was rumoured that he had affair with Madhuri Dixit at that time. It is believed that they both are in love. But when he was arrested under TADA act, she refused to talk him even on phone, which may have broken him and his feet found the reality of life. Well after completing his imprisonment, in some of the interviews he had stated that when he was in jail for the punishment he realise the real meaning of life. At that time he valued the life and his family. I have no doubt that it may have made him stronger in determination, conviction and honesty.  Well, he is a free man now. If he had learned a lesson for his life then it is ok but if not then friends I must say be ready for the sequel of Sanju.

Well, whether you are a star, politicians or common man, if you do something bad things, you have to pay the price. That same happened with Sanjay Dutt. But some questions still came up in my mind like; Why did he make these bad choices in his life? and what he is going to do now? Did he change or still have contact with Underworld? Mhhhh.. Maybe either Sanjay Dutt can tell us about these or one good astrologer can !!!
