2017 - My Year Review

Tags: love hope sleep
Hi there, old friend…

It’s currently 12:48am and I can’t Sleep at all, Aaron is fast asleep next to me and my stomach is growling for food but I’m trying to train him that this is no hour for snacking and that he should shut up and go to sleep… and so should I really!

Anyway I thought I would come on here (OneNote) after battling my way through a million and one apps to find ‘Blogger’ only to find it no longer exists…see? It’s been a while. I want to talk about the past year, which has blown it out of the water for me. It was truly incredible and if I could repeat that year for the rest of my life, I would, without a shadow of a doubt, however, if 2017 taught me anything it would be self worth. 2017 taught me that I am more than just a plant pot filler, it told me that I can be anything I want to be and that I have to go out there, put my foot down and prove to myself that I am worth something. Whatever that may be is still a mystery slightly, but I found a lot of motivation in 2017, and I’m more than raring to go.

Towards the end of 2017 I did notice that I’m more of a night owl than I realised and that I probably shouldn’t have to pick up my phone at daft o’clock but hey, I’m testing the waters!

If you haven’t seen my recap video, here are a few of my highlights…

No, it’s not me silly! … 😔
This year my best friends Sam and Stacey tied the knot, I can’t believe how quick it’s gone! I remember about 5 years ago when Sam told me that he had proposed to Stacey and now they’re married?! I still can’t… it’s insane!

It’s a boy!
On the 13th October (good memory me) my best friend of 14 years told me that she was expecting a little boy! However, I wont let her live it down that she didn’t film my reaction when I realised it was her who was pregnant, not her sister!

My dream holiday
Oh yes, this year I went on my dream holiday to Orlando Florida, I honestly feel like the moment I came home I had left a piece of me over there, I feel like I have family over there or something, I’ve finally found a place where my heart belongs

Now, if you are a subscriber you might have noticed that I haven’t reviewed and renewed my ‘annual’ hopes and goals for 2017. I haven’t secretly watched the video or anything, don’t worry, I haven’t created one this year because I know for a fact that I haven’t accomplished any of last years, or even half of the year before, and I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment again, so here’s what I’m gonna do, I’m gonna try not to jinx myself and share them on here! Then if I achieve all of them I’ll read out this blog post next year, hows that? So, let’s begin…

  1. I would Love to start a career in social media this year. It’s the field that I love and I would love to be in a position where I can grow as a person, gain more skills and fall more in love with it.
  2. In support of this I would love to move out this year. It’s been on mine and Aaron’s bucket list pretty much since we got together but I haven’t been financially stable enough to pursue this dream.
  3. In relation to my YouTube channel. I always have a goal in mind and this time, I would like to focus this on my sims account. I’ve fallen back in love with the sims 4 again and I really want to start up The Sim Scene again, I’m going to set my self a goal to achieve 100 subscribers on that channel by the end of 2018.

That’s all for my theoretical goals, but more importantly I hope I’m healthier and happier this time next year than I am now. This all goes for the first 2 pointers but writing this has surprisingly really helped! Hopefully I can sleep now. Anyway, if you’ve reached this far, thank you for reading and I hope to see you next time, wherever it may be.
