Indian roads are heavily covered with bedsheet of vehicles . This bedsheet is one of the main cause of pollution , for reducing  this pollution many steps have been  undertaken ...such as the  CNG , encouraging public transport but it is almost impossible to stop people from buying a vehicles. So vehicular pollution is increasing day by day .
India unveiled the National Electric Mobility Misson Plan (NEMMP) to address the issues of national energy security,  vehicular pollution . For this India will start working toward electric automobile by 2030.

REVA, a Bangalore based company in 2001 introduced India's first electric car. REVA was owned by (Mumbai based company Mahindra)
