There might be some confusion over whom the “girl” in the post’s title Refers to. I expect as much, since when I thought of the title… I hadn’t yet decided who the “girl” was to be. Most would think that the “girl” refers to you… but they would be wrong. What?!? Yes, you read it right the first time… Don’t worry you will understand as you read on.

When you think of the word world. What comes to mind? It could mean a multitude of things. It might refer to the world we live in, our enviroment. It might decribe our place in soceity. Here however, it simply means everything.

You had been in the NICU Ward for a day, one very long day. The only people allowed into that ward are the doctors, nurses and the parents. Your Mummy was recovering from her c-section and was still hooked up to monitors, so she was unable to make the journey across the hospital to visit you. Your daddy, then, had been the only one to see you and during that period, he had already made far too many trips to visit you. For your mummy, it had been a very long 24 hours, perhaps the longest of her life…

All the same, time had moved on and it wouldn’t be much longer. Your mummy could hardly contain herself. Ofcourse, before they brought you to us, they would first have to take you to the nursery, where you would be given a quick checkup by the nurses first. It was slightly after lunch when we heard the wheels of a crib stop just outside our room door. The wait was nearly over for your mummy…

The door opened wide, and they rolled you into the room… and into your mummy’s life. As they placed you in her arms, her face lit up joy. A joy, the likes of which, I had never seen before then. Mother and daughter had finally met… and it was then she first realised she was holding the world in her her hands. Everything we had gone though culminated into one singular moment… Our lives, our hopes, our dreams, and our desires. They could all could be summed up in 3 words, Ashley Angelique Moss…
