Asia Cup Pakistan VS Bangladesh
Watching yesterday’s match of Asia Cup (Pakistan VS Bangladesh) was very painful and the defeat is very difficult to digest. I think selection committee announced their defeat even before the Asia Cup had started when the combination of Champions trophy was broken.
Selection of Players for Asia Cup
Selection of many players in Asia Cup were not justified. For example: The team going in a major tournament without an additional specialized opener. Shan Masood is unfit for ODI cricket and he was taken as bench player with no proven records or potential in test cricket let alone ODI’S.
Muhammad Nawaz taken as an all rounder and i believe that this guy has Zero potential. He is neither a batsman nor a bowler. He played full tournament and came out with shameless performance.
Haris Sohail taken as additional middle order batsman and again this selection proved drastic. Performances of Aamir, Hasan Ali and Sarfaraz are absolutely pathetic.
Solution
Combination of Champions trophy team should be restored. Azhar Ali, Muhammad Hafeez, Umar Akmal and Hussain Tallat should be brought back in the team.
Umar Akmal has some serious disciplinary issues along with many dismal performances. His irresponsible, arrogant and immature behaviour has alreay halted his career. But the guy is talented and atleast should be given one last Chance before the world cup 2019. If he fails to perform in upcoming series against Newzealand and Australia, than he should be dumped forever.
Pakistan is in serious need of a good wicket keeper batsman. Sarfaraz Ahmed is incapable and Incompetent batsman. His leadership qualities are questionable too.
Government Role
In the end i request pattern in Chief Imran Khan to take serious notice of team’s shameful, dismal & miserable performance. Chief Slector Inzamam & Coach Mickey Arthur are responsible for this defeat.
In my opinion Coach and Chief Selector should be sacked immediately. We have players Like Shoaib Akhtar, Wasim Akram, Amir Sohail, Ramiz Raja who can fill up that place easily. Under 19 team’s coach should be a recently retired reputed player. i.e. Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi etc.
Imran Khan should form a high level committee to address this issue. Being cricket super star everyone expects him to deliver and especially to put cricket team on proper track. “Parchi culture should be stopped and merit based system must be enforced.
People abroad see Imran Khan as last ray of hope. They expect Khan to atleast form a strong domestic structure of cricket. Without a strong domestic cricket structure we will continue to suffer and face humiliation. Winning or loosing is part of game. It not that why U loose but what really matter is how U loose. Loosing in such a shameful way is not acceptable at all
