Who are robots? Robots are a computer program, who access web pages for a variety of purposes. In brief detail, Robots as like the Google's crawlers who crawl, fetch, and index your articles they analyze the contents for SERP and store them in its database for use in the search results. Website owners can communicate to search engine's robots by the adding some tags. Robots are known this language. We can dialog them with the help of these tags. 

What is header tags? While a web page is requested from any search engine's servers, then headers are attached with all that number of requests and responses. Headers are used for various purposes like how much time spend a user for that page. 

In easy language, Robots header tags meant for data consumption by the robots. Inside of this, they are responsible for recognizing the updates on our websites and notifying the search engine about that.

1. all - This tag is using to improve your web pages crawling. If you will set this tag. Then Crawlers aren't bound by any constraints. Whereby Google crawlers can freely crawl, index, and expose your content. This tag helps you for making a good relationship with the search engines. 

2. noindex - Your website has some such pages those you want to not appear to readers, but search engine crawls those pages and that pages appear as a search result. To stop this incident, you can use noindex tag as it prevents search engines from indexing those. 

3. Nofollow - Nofollow and Dofollow tags are using for outbound and inbound links to your blog posts. This tag helps you to make noindex and nofollow external URL. If you don't want to crawl URL that includes in your articles. You can set up as a nofollow. 

4. none - none is a feature who combine both noindex and nofollow. By the help of none tag, search engine's crawlers will not index your article's pages. But this tool is not useful for blogger or website owners who want to rank up in the search engines.

5. noarchive - Google captures your article's copy into their server to display on SERP. Sometimes it goes down. It is said and deficit, the noarchive tag turns off cached version in search pages.

6. nosnippet - This tag helps you to make exclusive content. In general, your article appears text snippet on the search result. Text snippet in search result help people to find what's on the webpage, but if you want to keep the content exclusive, then turn on this header tag. 

7. noodp - Google uses your ODP (Open directory projects), who create by the dmoz.org. This is a human created directory of website and web pages, the purpose of the ODP is to list and categorize sites, not to rank or promote them.

But sometimes, Google uses these descriptions and other information to improve the text snippets or shown in search results. If you will set the noodp tag, Google will not use the metadata from ODP.

8. no translate - If the user who comes to your webpage from the different language. Google shown a link in its search result to translate that page. If you will set notranslate, then such links won't be shown.

9. noimageindex - noimageindex is very useful for you. If you allow Google to index your image, then people can use on their own website. To prevent that, set noimageindex tag. If you set it, the image on that page will not be indexed.

10. unvailable_after - I think this tag can be harmful to your website If you set this tag, then the webpage will not be shown in search results after the specified date and time.


How To Setup Custom Robots Header Tags?


Carefully fill all mention information. As we are talking about custom robot header tags.

1. Visit blogger.com and sign in to your account. From the list of your blogs, choose the one for which you want to modify robot tags.

2. Then go to the setting >> Search Preferences. There you see a setting called custom robots header tags under crawlers and indexing. Click the edit link to the right of it.



3. At this step, you will notice two micro buttons. Obviously, first one pick.



4. After clicking yes, you will get many options. Tick all box correctly. Because this is custom robot header tag setting.

Home Page: all and noodp.
Archive and Search Pages: noindex and noodp.
Default for posts and pages: all and noodp.



Check all marks and hit the save button. Your custom robot setting is successfully saved. 

Important News: Do not mark noindex checkbox until and unless you are sure about it because doing the same will pull your website off from search engine result pages.
